Darkest dungeon abusive affliction10/3/2023 ![]() ![]() It's only a benefit en masse, so if they make it nigh impossible to get a group of four Abusive heroes together, Abusive stops being a beneficial affliction. My thought, though, was that the primary downside of an Abusive hero is that they stress the other heroes out, which is why four Abusive heroes can do well. The problem with your solution is that they might end up heroic instead. Or you could, you know, not have one of the afflictions actually be positive. Perhaps you should be unable to camp in that first room. The only downside to this is that you could camp in the very first room to relieve some of that stress before the hero became afflicted again. if you happen to reduce their stress to 0, they will lose the affliction, but this. there is no way to predict how your heroes will act and what theyll do. once you have them, then youre just in the hands of RNG. Then, when you enter a dungeon with that same hero, the next time he had a chance, he'd roll for a new affliction because his stress would be at 100. just like others have said, prevention of afflictions is the best way to handle them. Just have afflictions get cured when you leave a dungeon, but have the stress stay at 100. I don't know if I'm prepared to call this a problem, but it's easily solveable if it is. The issue is, if you can get everyone abusive, instead of it being a negative, it's actually a positive, unlike all the other afflictions that give stat penalties or erratic behavior.
